These are just a few of the nearly 30 athletes Ron Peterson is currently training. They are from all walks of life, from professional athletes, to recreational riders with "real world" responsibilities.
Greg Leibert
Greg had a fantastic year in 2006. He won the Valencia Stage race 35+, CBR State Crit Championship 40+, Conquer the Canyons Stage race 35+, and West LA college circuit race. This in addition to far too many top 10 placings to mention. He is also on track to win the overall 2006 SoCal Cup for the 35+ category.
Greg has been working with Ron for the past 3 years. Starting as a Category 3 racer, he has progressed to become one of the best racers in the state. One example of how far he's come was the San Dimas Stage race. Greg won the 35+ uphill timetrial ahead of Thurlow Rogers and Chris Walker. His time would have placed him 17th in the Pro/1 field (and as a National Calendar race the best in the country were there). All this at 45 yrs old.

Jeff Konsmo
Jeff has also been working with Ron for the past 3 years. Like Greg, Jeff started out as a Cat 3 racer, and had been for years. At the end of his first season with Ron, Jeff was forced to upgrade to a Cat 2, as he had too many points to continue racing in the Cat 3 field. Jeff has a wife, kids, and a "Real Job", all of which limit his available training time. Despite his time limitations, in 2006 Jeff won both the San Luis Rey Road race 35+, and the Sisquoc Road race 35+, 2 of the most challenging races of the year.

Eric Romney
In the middle of 2005 Eric came to Ron frustrated with his results. Eric had just been spit out the back of the Cat 3 field in a local criterium. Enough was enough, time to get a coach. By the end of 2005 Eric was seeing vast improvement, in fact he ended the season with a number of top 5 placings.
2006: Eric had worked with Ron throughout the winter in preparation for the race-season. Results weren't long in coming. Eric placed top 5 in nearly all the criteriums he entered. Half way through the season he was leading the Cat 3 CBR point series by such a large margin, it would have been nearly impossible for him to lose. Eric of course won the series, eventhough he upgraded to Cat 2 for the final two races of the year.
Gregg Stern
Gregg has been cycling for years, many years in fact, which isn't difficult considering he's 54 years old. Gregg has a daughter in Med School, a successful career producing commercials, and a lovely wife who forcibly boots him from the house when he gets cranky after 2 days off the bike. Gregg has become one of the strongest riders on any given local group ride, which in LA can number over 100 participants. He is regularly one of the very first to cross the local sprint lines, be they on the flats or at the top of a climb. All this and he's 20 years older than most of his competitors.
In 2006, the most prestigious of his many victories was the CBR year long series for 55+ racers.

Stacey Peters

Stacey was a professional cyclist on the T-Mobile cycling team from 2002-2004. In '04 Stacey had a break-out year, racing with the best women in the world in Australia, Milan-San Remo, and the Tour of Flanders. Right before her crash she placed 3rd in the Sea Otter Time Trial, finally finishing 5th overall.

Joe Cesena
Joe and Andy Hampsten riding in Tuscany.
Joe, by his own admission isn't a racer. He came to Ron in order to get ready for a 2 week bike trip in Italy. Joe had to wisdom to book said trip with none other than American cycling legend Andy Hampsten. As you can see by the picture, Joe had no problems whatsoever keeping up with the still lean former professional (alright, maybe that's not quite true....).
